RPG Research currently has an important opening for a non-profit Volunteer Marketing & Graphic Design Staff. We are looking for someone that is passionate about improving our organization's brand through marketing and media presence.

We are looking for candidates that are excited about what we are doing as an organization to help improve lives around the world.

THIS OPPORTUNITY CAN BE 100% REMOTE WORK, VERY FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE.
VOLUNTEER, UNPAID POSITION FOR 501(C)3 NON-PROFIT.
MARKETING OR GRAPHIC DESIGN STUDENTS, INTERNS, & EXPERIENCED PROFESSIONALS WELCOMED.

We have a need for staff that will be either marketing or design focused or both.

The Marketing Focused Staff will:

  • Develop and implement a Marketing Strategy Plan

  • Engage and schedule news and media engagement opportunities.

  • Grow social media audience and and relationships

  • Contact news and media outlets to expand the reach of our brand and raise greater global awareness about our organization's research, training, convention, volunteer, & community programs.

  • Post announcement highlights about our events, videos, publications, & other media releases.

  • Write monthly newsletters to opt-in subscribers in compliance with international laws.

  • Schedule key interviews/panels/events with our leadership staff.

  • Attend one meeting per week (1-4 hours).

  • Assist with website updates and content.

  • Assist with updates to our media and social media presence.

  • Assist with updates to our news and/or blog sections of our website(s) periodically.

The Design Focused Staff will:

  • Create eye-catching graphics and engaging designs for our website and social media.

  • Create visual storytelling through animated graphics and video content.

  • Handel design projects from start to finish.

  • Attend one meeting per week (1-4 hours).

  • Assist with website updates and content.

  • Assist with updates to our media and social media presence.

  • Assist with updates to our news and/or blog sections of our website(s) periodically.

  • Post announcement highlights about our events, videos, publications, & other media releases.

SCHEDULE
This volunteer position typically required between 5-10 hours per week.

LOCATION
Though our offices and studios are primarily located in Spokane, WA, this position can be 100% remote work.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Our primary website is: https://www.rpgresearch.com, but we have more than a dozen other related sites relevant to this position and our organization.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • The Marketing Focused Staff:

  • Strong marketing insight, experience, and skills

  • Strong English

  • Strong grammar

  • Strong vocabulary

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Strong writing skills.

  • Strong social media skills.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Extensive experience contacting and working with media & news services (Marketing)

At least 1 year experience with business and/or community based social media (personal social media experience does NOT count). Especially experience with non-profits a huge plus!

At least 1 year experience writing for web-based news or blog site.


The Design Focused Staff:

  • Strong social media skills.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to iterate designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently

  • Fluent in Figma, Illustrator, or similar application

  • Fluent in Adobe Creative Cloud or similar applications (Indesign, Photoshop, After Effects, Premier Pro) (preferred not required)

At least 1 year experience with business and/or community based social media (personal social media experience does NOT count). Especially experience with non-profits a huge plus

At least 1 year experience in Graphic, Web, Motion, or User Experience Design

Background, training, experience, with Internet writing for community, non-profit, or business entities.
It is okay if you are still a student, and possibly, pending your university's approval this position could qualify as internship hours.

At least 6 months experience with all of the social media organizations we use (personal or otherwise):

Compensation
As will all positions, we are a 100% volunteer-run non-profit organization, so we cannot provide any financial or other compensation for your work. We can provide free training and experience to help you better perform your tasks. Also, pending your university's approval, it may be possible for us to sign off on student experience hours/internship.

Description

We improve lives around the world through research & community programs using the power of accessible & inclusive music & role-playing games (RPG). Multidisciplinary sources setting standards for safety & accessibility, training people worldwide.
RPG Research is an international 501(c)3 non-profit human services charitable organization with volunteers across 5 continents.
Working with RPGs since '77, & researching their effects since '83. Educational & therapeutic use of RPGs since '85. Open online research repository since '04.
Incorporated in 2017.
In 2018 we had 10 regular volunteers.
As of March 2020 we hit over #120!
We partner with many other organizations too!
RPG Fleet of wheelchair accessible mobile facilities, providing neurodiverse friendly, comfortable, environmentally controlled, mobile music & tabletop RPG rooms across the USA to under-served & un-served locations for those that benefit most!
We provide over 80 programs at GenCon in Indianapolis, IN, July 29 to August 2, for neurodiversity, visually impaired/blind, Deaf & hard-of-hearing, ages 5 through senior adults & everything in between.
Our multidisciplinary research-supported programs draw from therapeutic recreation, music, neuroscience, psychology, & other knowledge domains. Our community programs help people achieve educational, recreational, & therapeutic goals, measurably improving quality of life.
Our annual International RPG Researchers Conference July 10-12.
