Pacific City Kiosk

ORGANIZATION: Pacific Marine Mammal Center

Pacific City in Huntington Beach has very generously donated a kiosk for us to utilize. Now, we need to make sure it's staffed! Our outdoor kiosk is ideally located just outside of Lulu Lemon and across from the wonderful Philz Coffee! It is a fun, casual, and social outdoor environment - great restaurants and shops right on PCH (you can even bring your dog)! Our kiosk is stocked with some of our favorite items from our Treasure Trove gift shop, as well as some new items specific to the area. No cash will be handled, only digital transactions here! Don't let that deter you. Our system is very intuitive. All you need is a one-time, quick training to get started! As a representative of Pacific Marine Mammal Center (PMMC), volunteers are expected to have professional communication skills and recognize that your conduct reflects on the organization.

We are looking for volunteers who are:

-Over the age of 17 (if a parent can be involved, we can make an exception for an applicant who is 16).

-Comfortable in public situations and retail settings

-Eager to learn about PMMC, and how you can be part of a movement focusing on marine mammals and the environment

-Can commit to at least one, 3 hour shift*. Would love consistent volunteers as well!

-Can provide a reliable means of transportation

*Flexible Schedule! Available shifts: 11:30 AM-2:30 PM, 2:30 PM-5:30 PM, or 5:30 PM-8:30 PM

Our Mission:

The Pacific Marine Mammal Center rescues, rehabilitates and releases marine mammals and inspires ocean stewardship through research, education and collaboration.

Mission Statement

To rescue, rehabilitate and release marine mammals and inspire ocean stewardship through research, education and collaboration.

Pacific Marine Mammal Center was the first marine mammal rehabilitation facility in California and was established prior to the Marine Mammal Protection Act of 1972. We utilize volunteers to help us with our animal care, docent & education, and gift shop needs.
