Help Create A Life-Changing RESOURCE GUIDE for Community Members In Need!

Smart, Organized, Detail-Oriented Volunteer Needed
Flexible schedule - Much of the work can be done remotely

Tasks will include:

  • Research (programs, criteria/how to apply, location/hours)
  • Organizing the information
  • Resource Guide design and layout (for both print and digital use)
BOSS is a County-wide organization with a network of programs that assist people experiencing homelessness, poverty, health crises, domestic or community violence, former incarceration or justice system involvement. BOSS is one of MANY local agencies who provide important services for this population - health (including COVID testing/vax/info), mental health, shelter, housing, rental assistance, legal support, family services, food, clothing, and more. There is a LOT of information out there - it is hard to stay up-to-date, to know who is eligible for what services, and how to apply.

We are looking for a volunteer to help us complete a new life-saving tool - a project that has already been started by a previous volunteer. The Resource Guide would be used internally by BOSS staff, and we would also distribute it to other service providers and to people in need.

This is a HIGHLY IMPACTFUL PROJECT that will help hundreds if not thousands of community members!!!

Our Mission BOSS's mission is to help homeless, poor, and disabled people achieve health and self-sufficiency, and to fight against the root causes of poverty and homelessness. BOSS programs focus on teaching life skills, connecting people with community resources, and creating supportive and positive environments that motivate people and build hope.

Our services address 4 areas:
- HOUSING: Shelter, transitional/special needs housing, permanent housing assistance.
- HEALTH: Physical and mental health services, medication monitoring, drug/alcohol recovery counseling, socialization, case management for the seriously mentally ill.
- ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT: Job readiness assessments, resume-building, job search assistance, job development with employers, job creation, adult education.
- SOCIAL JUSTICE: Community building, leadership development, and collaborative action campaigns on targeted policy goals.
