Mission Statement

The World Youth Foundation, Inc. (WYF) is a national, nonprofit, grassroots organization based in Houston, Texas. WYF was created to serve as a development vehicle to enhance the positive growth and character of all youth, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, special needs, or economic background. Chartered in April 1990, we equip young people aged 6 to 24 with the necessary experiences and resources to function as proactive citizens. Our mission is to "teach youth how to win in life against all odds". And those services and programs offered are prevention and empowerment intervention strategies that align with social & emotional learning skills in serving adolescents, teens, and young adults. The programs are intergenerational and strengthen equity, humanity, and economic mobility & sustainability.

Description

WYF has sponsored youth program initiatives such as our Ambassador Training Program, from which more than 1225 students have graduated. The resources WYF provides are invaluable and contribute to the positive transition from youth to prepared adults: into college, preparatory environments, more job opportunities, careers, civic participation, and personal development. Simply put, we nurture Young Adults from the classrooms to executive boardrooms while eliminating the "school to prison" pipeline!

WYF is designed with carefully researched impact-based components and its partners continue to improve and collectively contribute to the success of our youth. In fact, by continuing to place our youth first while focusing on positive community stewardship, WYF reached all-time high benchmarks in youth participation and influence, parent involvement, diversified mentor support, student impact, expansion of our partnerships, and return-to-value for our communities. We hope you
will join this effort and assist in developing young leaders, while building strong communities.

WYF seeks your support in recruiting available volunteers at our special events like the upcoming Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo held Feb 17 - March 27, 2024.
