Are you a mature, caring, reliable and people-oriented individual who is willing to serve others? Then becoming a hospice volunteer is for you! Hospice volunteers are exceptional people who donate their time and efforts to provide comfort and compassion for someone with a life-limiting illness. They have a passion for helping others and make a profound difference in the lives of the patients and families we serve. A Patient Care Volunteer enhances a hospice patient's quality of life through direct patient activities and companionship. Some types of activities include: reading, life review, watching the patient's favorite TV show, board or card games, scrapbooking, animal care, respite, gardening and more.
We have volunteer opportunities throughout Brevard County. The hospice volunteer is strictly a compassionate companion. No hands on care is provided. We provide all orientation and training, in addition to education and instruction on COVID best practices. Come join us and be part of a community and a team dedicated to helping those facing life's most difficult circumstances. We look forward to hearing from you!
