Wool and alpaca fiber cleaner and spinner

ORGANIZATION: WEST PLACE ANIMAL SANCTUARY

  • 3 people are interested

Our alpaca and sheep get sheared each spring to ensure they stay happy and healthy. They also enjoy rolling around in the dirt! This leaves us with a lot of wool and fiber that needs a good cleaning before our spinners spin it into skeins. From there, our volunteers knit the string into hats, mittens, and other items.

We are looking for a volunteer who would be able to clean our products for us. This would require someone to be able to pick up raw fiber, take it home, wash it, and bring it back to us. We need someone with experience doing this since our fiber is very valuable to us! And if you know how to spin that is even better!

If you have experience washing wool and are willing to help us out by doing this at home, please consider this opportunity. All proceeds we make from our items go directly to supporting our animals.
