ORGANIZATION: National Park Service
Please visit the new page to apply.
Volunteers assist with transcribing and translating early commercial sound recordings (c. 1890 - 1930s) in languages that are primarily not in English. Performed generally by immigrants for other immigrants, these recordings document the struggles, misunderstandings and joys experienced by newcomers in America. Most of the records to which we presently have access are in Spanish, Yiddish and Polish. However, if you do not speak one of these languages and are still interested, please contact us. It is possible that we also have recordings in that language.
