Calling all Arts and Crafts lovers! From knitting to sewing to other personalized, crafty items, bring over your skills, talents, and love to the Suncrest Team. We are looking for volunteers to create these amazing items for our hospice patients and/or their families. You can help brighten their day, as the smallest things, can go a long way!
The philosophy of hospice care is to provide comfort and the highest quality of life that one can achieve at the end of life. Through an interdisciplinary team including a nurse, nurse assistant, social worker, chaplain, and volunteer, we help the patient and family walk through their journey.
Volunteers are essential members of the patient’s hospice care team. Volunteers are trained to listen, care, and provide companionship for our patients during this important time in their lives. Through careful screening and orientation, our volunteers understand the hospice philosophy to provide as much comfort and quality of life to our patients as possible. All of our volunteers are trained to provide companionship, but we are especially looking for volunteers who are willing to share their love and talent for arts and crafts with our patients and the entire Suncrest Community.
In the Bay Area, Suncrest Hospice serves families in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano counties and serves both patients in hospice facilities and in their own homes.
All Suncrest Hospice volunteers are required to complete a background check and TB and drug testing at no charge to you.
Please contact our staff at 408-900-8838 for any questions or further information!
