Description:
The Human Resources (HR) Manager is both a strategic and hands-on role that provides human resources support to Thaddeus Resource Center. The role is critical in executing our employee engagement/people initiatives, providing great employee and volunteer support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Directly supervise and mentor 5 to 10 interns under a specific committee (i.e general HR, policy and procedure, volunteer committee)
- Oversee and assist in various HR processes, including but not limited to: recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding/orientation, training, offboarding, etc.
- Develop and manage general training and opportunities for development for Thaddeus' staff
- Manage engagement, development, and performance of full-time, part-time, intern, and volunteer staff
- Manage and post staff availabilities on Shifts through Microsoft Teams
- Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations for all staff
- Administer support and guidance to the executive director, fellow management, and other staff when complex and sensitive questions/issues arise
- Develop and facilitate workshops for HR interns to learn and grow in the field
- Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with Thaddeus’ policies and procedures
- Keep track of the department’s organizational performance (KPIs - HR metrics)
- Work with Community Engagement in marketing initiatives to increase engagement with past, current, and potential employees
- Oversee onboarding and orientation of in-person staff
- Aid Operations in the creation and implementation of strategic initiatives to align HR strategy with business strategy
Qualifications:
Required:
- Education: Bachelor’s in Human Resources, Psychology, I/O Psychology or Business Administration
- Previous management experience in a similar role or environment
- At least 1-2 years of experience in Human Resources, Recruitment, L&D, etc.
- Ability to understand non-profit business goals and recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity, and development of HR within the non-profit
- Ability to create a vision and goals for the HR team; inspire and motivate the team to achieve excellence in terms of Thaddeus staff support and core HR processes
- Strong technical and organizational skills in addition to excellent written and verbal communication skills, in a professional environment
- A high level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality
- Excellent multi-tasking, time management, interpersonal communication, and business writing skills are a must
- Creative problem-solving skills and motivated by creating solutions for teams
- Proven leadership, coaching, and facilitation skills
- Ability to build and sustain strong partnerships with university representatives, transition to work programs, workforce training programs, etc
- Ability to work independently with little instructions and strong attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Office 365), Canva, and Adobe DC
- Manager must have the appropriate technology, internet connection, and ability to function in a virtual capacity via Microsoft Teams
Preferred:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Pursuing or have received a Master’s in Human Resources Management or Applied Psychology, or MBA (focus in HR a plus)or SHRM or HRCI certified
- Experience working with non-profits (with Thaddeus, a plus)
- A solid understanding of and connection to Thaddeus’s mission, vision, values, and targeted demographic/community
- An understanding of the transition to work, GAIN/TSE, and other similar programs

Time Commitment and Working Conditions:
-The responsibilities for this role are performed 100% remotely
- Must be available for the following VIRTUAL weekly meetings:
- Weekly All Staff Meeting: Mondays 10 AM -11 AM PST
- Weekly Department Meeting: Fridays 10 AM - 12 PM PST (may be changed to whatever works best for manager and team)
