Today, the ability to use technology is a vital part of daily life. As a Computer Lab and Technology Support Volunteer, you will help a diverse population of library members gain information and technology literacy by assisting them in Martin Library's Adult Computer Lab. You will give members one-to-one support on both lab computers and personal devices (laptops, tablets, smartphones, etc.).

Tasks include helping members to:

  • Log on to library computers
  • Use library resources such as printing services, e-book apps, and databases
  • Carry out basic tasks on the computer such as performing web searches, creating email accounts, and using Microsoft and Google products (Word, Docs, etc.)
Volunteers with more technology experience and knowledge may use their talents for additional tasks such as helping library staff to teach computer classes or holding pre-scheduled technology assistance appointments with members.
