Hollow Oak Land Trust is currently looking for volunteers to support the 9th Annual Brewhaha on March 22, 2025 at the Mayernik Center at Avonworth Community Park. This is a fun, laidback fundraising event that features ten of Pittsburgh’s finest craft breweries, along with a 5-Course Pairings Menu by Chef Chaz Smith. Cobblehaus Brewing Company, Trace Brewing, Altered Genius, Lincoln Avenue Brewery, A Few Bad Apples Cider, Grist House, Penn Brewery, Black Dog Winery, and others will be joining us this year!

We have a particluar need for volunteers to help with: guest registration, selling raffle tickets, overseeing the prizewheel, serving food, and pouring drinks.

About HOLLOW OAK LAND TRUST INC

Location:

PO BOX 741, MOON TOWNSHIP, PA 15108, US

Mission Statement

Our organization protects and connects greenspace with an emphasis on the Pittsburgh International Airport Corridor. Hollow Oak Land Trust owns over 550 acres and protects 90 acres through conservation agreements with landowners. These conservation areas are open to the public year-round for hiking, biking and relaxing in the great outdoors.

Description

Hollow Oak Land Trust properties are managed as conservation areas, where all plants and animals found there are protected unless specific written approval is received in advance from the organization. Management plans allow low-impact recreational uses such as hiking, biking and cross-country skiing, but not activities that could cause significant degradation, such as motorized vehicle use. One of our key goals is to provide public access to year-round recreational enjoyment and use by people of all ages, with minimum negative impact. Our trails and conservation areas are maintained by staff and volunteers.
