Old First Concerts has been presenting classical, jazz and world music concerts within the sanctuary of San Francisco's historic Old First Presbyterian Church since 1970, primarily showcasing local, emerging and mid-career professional musicians in a variety of innovative programs. Please visit our YouTube channel for more insight --- https://www.youtube.com/OldFirstConcerts

Volunteering at O1C offers an outstanding opportunity for students, seniors, or anyone with an appreciation of music! Old First presents concerts each and every month with performances typically held on Friday nights (from 8:00pm to 9:30pm) and Sunday afternoons (from 4:00pm to 5:30pm), along with the occasional Saturday night performance (also from 8:00pm to 9:30pm). As a result of the ongoing pandemic, O1C is currently offering only 3-4 concerts per month, but our schedule will increase as patrons slowly return.

O1C volunteers are asked to arrive 60 minutes before showtime to assist with preparing the venue and assembling the program guides. Once the doors have opened to the public, duties include ushering, distributing programs, directing patrons to restrooms, simple box office responsibilities, and if needed, assisting with COVID vaccination screening. These responsibilities are equally shared among all volunteer staff members. Once the bulk of patrons have arrived and the concert is comfortably underway, O1C volunteers are then able to attend and enjoy the performance for themselves! At the conclusion of each event, volunteers then scout the venue for any personal items that may have been left behind and submit them to Lost & Found, collect and recycle all discarded programs, and in general, return the sanctuary to its original state.

Scheduling is extremely flexible --- you select when and how often you're available to assist --- however,we're especially in need of helping hands for our Friday and Saturday night performances.

If this opportunity sounds appealing to you, then please contact us with your expression of interest!

*All performers and patrons are vetted for COVID-19 vaccination status before entering the concert hall. Mask wearing and social distancing is enforced for all attendees.
