At our chapter, the mission is focused solely and completely on the children of Orange County, California. We are a privately-funded non-profit organization that serves severely abused, neglected and abandoned children through the recruitment, training, and continued support of volunteers who advocate and mentor these children, representing their best interest in the courtroom and other settings.
"I am the only person in my CASA child’s life who isn’t paid," says Joy Winger, a CASA volunteer. "Everyone in a foster child’s life is paid: their therapist, their foster parents, their social worker. These kids know that. But when a CASA volunteer comes and says, 'I am here, just for you,’ that is life-changing."
We believe that the protection of our children is a fundamental obligation of our society and therefore our advocates and staff will fight for and protect a child’s right to be safe, to be treated with dignity and respect and to live in a healthy environment where he/she can learn and grow.
At CASA of Orange County, our mantra is I am for the Child. Being a CASA means helping to support and protect the rights of our county’s valued children and to give them the nurturing and stability that they deserve.

Mission Statement
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Orange County provides a powerful voice and a meaningful connection for children who have experienced abuse, neglect and abandonment.
Description
On any given day in Orange County, there are nearly 3,000 children who have been removed from their parents' care and placed in out-of-home care due to abuse or neglect. CASA is a nonprofit organization that matches caring volunteers with these children. Through mentorship and advocacy, volunteers are role models who provide consistency and give the children a voice in court. The unique one-on-one relationship that forms between the volunteer and dependent child is often the only stable, positive relationship the child has. In a sea of social workers, attorneys, therapists and caregivers, it's the court appointed volunteer who is a consistent and caring friend and advocate for the child. Our volunteers and staff are every day heroes who have the passion and commitment to positively influence the lives of these very special kids - one child at a time. CASA is currently listed as the Best Place to Volunteer in Orange County.
