ACCESS is looking for lunch (11:30am-1:00pm) and dinner (4:15pm-6:15pm) meal server volunteers, Monday-Sunday. If you're interested, please apply at this link, https://timecounts.org/access-volunteer.

Job duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Help serve prepared meals
  • Clean kitchen after the meal
  • Mark off names of residents that signed up for the meal
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding clients receiving services at ACCESS
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements: All volunteers are required to wear hair nets. No open toe shoes or shorts are permitted in the kitchen. Beard guards are available. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older to be in the kitchen unsupervised. Youth ages 10-17 are allowed to volunteer with a parent, guardian, or adult present.

Impact: Volunteers who serve meals help preserve staff time and energy to be devoted to other areas of client services. Volunteers have the opportunity to interact with our clients and improve their day!

2 Shifts

  • 04:15 PM to 06:15 PM EST
    Maximum of 3 people in the kitchen at one time
  • 11:30 AM to 01:00 PM EST
    Maximum of 3 people in the kitchen at one time

Description

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF ACCESS?

  • To provide emergency shelter services for women and children.
  • To link women and existing resources in the community.
  • To aid in the attainment of an independent future.
  • To assist in alleviating the situation that caused them to seek emergency shelter.
Women may be in need of emergency shelter for many reasons including eviction, unemployment, transiency, utility disconnections and all types of crisis circumstances.
