CASE INTAKE INTERN

Reports to:
Program Manager

Options: Summer Internship, Fall Internship, Spring Internship

Location: Hybrid, NYC or Fully Virtual

Internship Summary:
Case Intake Intern would have the opportunity to field client calls, perform phone screenings/interviews and assess for appropriateness of cases for our programs and services. When cases are appropriate, our intern will guide clients through the intake process and will have the opportunity to observe intakes when clients consent. The internship will include training on how our programs operates, how to perform safety screenings, and how to obtain collateral information from other providers when necessary.

Primary Functions:

  • Check Intake voicemail and recording calls in a daily call log
  • Call prospective clients and perform phone screenings
  • Assess for safety as well as appropriateness for the programs
  • Guide parents and children through the intake process
  • Provide referrals when indicated
  • Participate in weekly supervision meetings
  • Observe intakes with families' permission

Additional Duties As Needed

  • On occasion the Case Intake Intern will collaborate with others at I'RAISE with requests or projects.

Qualifications:

  • Current college or university student attaining college degree in Human Services, Early Childhood Education or related fields
  • OR, recent graduate with degree in Human Services, Early Childhood Education or related fields

I’RAISE Boys & Girls International Corporation is a tax-exempt nonprofit organization in New York City founded in 2012. We have been providing free tutoring, mentoring and coaching services, virtual performance classes, college preparation program, nutrition workshops, and parent education program. As a minority led non-profit organization with leaders that are women of colors, we feel so much pride and we are so proud being able to provide beneficial resources to the children in under-resourced areas in New York City in-person and multiple-states virtually. And we have been successful in providing these services because of our volunteers.
