The Stronghold Freedom Foundation is looking for compassionate and professional individuals to assist with our Care and Support Team. The CAST team "triages" requests for aid and guidance for our veterans and their families. The requests for help range from guidance on where to turn for VA claims to financial aid. We have an established network of partnerships and refer individuals to orgnizations that are best suited to assist them. Our CARE team communicates with ill and hospitalized Veterans and family members. We send care packages to them while hopitalized and offer additional assistance as needed and where suited.

Mission Statement
The Stronghold Freedom Foundation utilizes awareness and partnerships to serve those exposed to toxic conditions while deployed in the service of our country.
Description
The Stronghold Freedom Foundation was founded to address the toxic exposures of military veterans deployed to Karshi-Khanabad, Uzbekistan, during Operation Enduring Freedom. Our veterans were ignored and forgotten by the government. When a service member becomes ill or dies on active duty, there are systems to help them. But when a veteran becomes ill from toxic exposures, they must fight the system for everything. Until early 2021 the country of Uzbekistan was not even included in the law that governs the care of veterans by the VA.
The Foundation utilizes partnerships to help veterans deal with the effects of their exposures.
We began as a Facebook group that was started by two K2 Veterans Mike West and PJ Widener. Before Mike succumbed to K2 Related cancer, we made a promise to continue to fight for and educate K2 Veterans about the conditions at the base and the illnesses. We formed the official nonprofit in 2020 to move beyond the limitations of Facebook and create systems to help every veteran and their families.
When the last K2 Veteran is cared for and the US Government fully addresses toxic exposures, our mission will be complete, and our promise to Mike will be kept.
