Position
We are seeking enthusiastic professionals and students who are passionate about the power of education. We are building a fresh volunteer team for the U.S. Chapter of Aiducation International and we welcome new volunteers from across the country to join us. Since we are a global organization, you can drive impact from home by joining volunteer meetings and leading work online. Our organization has 100+ volunteers globally and we need to rebuild the U.S. presence. Aiducation International is an efficiently run charity because we focus on education and we have leveraged professionals as volunteers since our founding in Kenya, in 2007. Around the globe, we are run by an impressive network of professionals, some having worked for free with Aiducation since the beginning in 2007 and some volunteer as new recruits. Most impressive of all, our Kenyan Chapter is now run by volunteers who at one point received one of our high school scholarships! The U.S. Chapter Lead and CEO will train and mentor the U.S. volunteer team to our global volunteer standards. All types of passionate people with various backgrounds are welcome to apply for 5 open roles. Please include your resume and a brief description of why you believe in the power of education.

Expectations for new volunteers
As a U.S. Chapter for 2023, we will aim to fundraise five new scholarships for up to $18k and gain new corporate partnerships. For example, our existing corporate sponsors fund over 40 Mentorship Academies every year in Kenya, Ghana and the Philippines, If we can secure U.S. based support, our Chapter can plan and travel to these countries to see the Aiducation impact in person and mentor our scholars.

This is an unpaid volunteer position. The estimated time commitment is a minimum of 5 hours per month. The role is remote and preferably based in the U.S. Contact us if you wish to volunteer in other countries or believe you can join the U.S. team from abroad.

  • Learn about Aiducation and complete the provided 1:1 online training.
  • Commit to a one year term as a volunteer. Join a minimum of 9 out of 12 monthly online meetings for the team to plan and activate our work.
  • Build enthusiasm and support for the cause. For example, you can choose to plan events, create student profiles online, write blog posts/newsletters, manager donors, or reach our to corporate sponsors. We will work with you on your interests as work is divided amongst the volunteers every month and we may choose to form formal positions over time (CFO, CIO, CDO etc)
  • If interested, there will be role opportunities to focus on finance and/or technology in the Chapter.

We are Aiducation International, a for impact organization awarding high school scholarships to bright and motivated young people in developing countries so that they can drive their countries forward.

Description

Education is the strongest lever for personal development, and capable, active citizen are the strongest lever for long-term, sustainable change. Together with our donors, we award merit based scholarships to bright and motivated, financially disadvantaged students in developing countries. These 4 year scholarships cover two main areas:

Building People: With each scholarship you provide a talented student who lacks the financial means to formal education.

Building Nations:Every scholar receives mentoring, training, and coaching and becomes part of our unique network of future decision makers that will drive their country forward in an economic, political and social way.

In 2020, we created 216 new scholarships driving us to a total of 2,123 scholarships across Kenya and the Philippines since our founding in 2007. Our online Global Youth Leadership Alliance has over 1k+ active members online as a modern way to connect and engage future leaders and their community impact. We hosted 16 mentorship academies in 2019, with 8 in 2020 that were transitioned into online academies due to Covid restrictions. Our Start-Up Fund with micro-loans for our alumni has funded 22 new businesses and our new online mentoring program is in high demand. We believe in the power of education and we drive this work through an impressive volunteer network.

In the US, we have volunteers in Atlanta, New York and Miami. We welcome remote help and meet online for volunteer meetings.
