Position Title:
DSHR Disaster Mental Health ( DMH ) Associate. Purpose is to help individuals cope with emotional and environmental impact following a disaster by assessing the clients' needs, helping them adjust to shelter living and assisting them with their recovery efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Willing to support Red Cross mission
- Perform mental health screening/informal assessment and triage
- Provide crisis intervention, emotional care, and support
- Educate workers and clients about emotional recovery and effective coping techniques
- Advocate for clients or staff
- Serve as consultant to individuals or groups
- Make and manage referrals for additional mental health services and/or follow up
- Assist with closing the site or operation
- Seek guidance form and implement requests and direction received from your supervisor
- Maintain a professional appearance
