Friends of Guest House is looking for individuals to teach self- love and self - acceptance workshops to approximately 10 - 15 of our residents.  This workshop should cover a variety of tools and practices that may assist in building self- acceptance / love. The goal is to assist in building confidence for the residents. Ideally this workshop will define what self-love/ acceptance are and why they are important. In addition to providing books/ songs/ Mantras that they can use for reference. Instructors should have some teaching experience in the subject area they wish to teach and be able to commit to teaching once a week for at least 8 weeks. Topics such as: Define Self love /acceptance, Different peoples version of self-love /acceptance, media version of self-love , campaigns on self-love - internationally.

Friends of Guest House in Alexandria, Virginia is currently looking for volunteers to help provide a new beginning for women recently released from incarceration.

Friends of Guest House is looking for volunteers to work in partnership with staff and volunteers to supervise residential halfway house for a maximum of 9 residents who have been recently released from incarceration (all for non-violent offenses). All of the women have a firm commitment to making changes to their life and the staff and volunteers are here to help them achieve that. Here at the house we offer individual counseling, group counseling, life skills development, support groups, vocational and educational assistance, housing assistance and referrals to necessary community resources.
