Need volunteer hours or work experience to further your education? Give Suncrest Hospice a try! This is a perfect volunteer opportunity for the busy college student and great experience for those in the medical or social work fields.
Volunteers are a part of a collaborative team of RNs, HHAs, Chaplains, Social Workers and a hospice Medical Director serving over 170 patients.
Suncrest Hospice is looking for volunteers (18+ years old) in the Sacramento area including parts of Yolo, Yuba, El Dorado, and Placer Counties. Our patients need visitors to chat with, read to them, sing to them, play music, play cards or games or many other activities so they are not lonely and bored. Do you enjoy people? Giving to others? Then we need you to be part of the Suncrest team as we provide excellent care and support to our hospice patients and their families in their homes and care facilities.
The philosophy of hospice care is to provide comfort and the highest quality of life that one can achieve at end of life. Through an interdisciplinary team: nurse, nurse assistant, social worker, chaplain and volunteers, we help the patient and family walk through their journey.
Volunteers are trained in their role with patients. We are required to conduct background checks and TB test, at no charge to all volunteers. No drug testing required.
Please contact Volunteer Coordinator Pamela Dupzyk at 916-928-0102 or email pdupzyk@suncrestcare.com for more information.

Advancement from this life to the next should be both dignified and comfortable; hospice allows patients to spend precious time with loved ones in the comfort of their own place of residence. Hospice care aims to treat the symptoms of the disease process and provide comfort and support rather than focus on halting, delaying, or curing the illness. Suncrest Hospice provides this treatment through qualified and
