ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

The volunteer will assist the Western National Parks Association (WNPA) store manager, and will operate the bookstore on the manager's days off. WNPA is a nonprofit park partner, and assists the National Park Service with funding for public programs. The volunteer will greet people as the they enter the store, shelve and stock products, and complete sales with RetailPro program. They will be responsible for accountable property/monies. The volunteer should also enjoy interacting with the public. They will share resource knowledge (archaeology, natural history, trails, FAQs) with the public in addition to sales duties. The WNPA store is the gateway to the park for many people, since the visitor center is in a different location. Volunteers will gain experience both in sales/stocking and in public speaking/interpretation.
