Ocean Pond Campground Host Summer 2023

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: USDA Forest Service

Volunteer camp hosts greet visitors, perform general facility and groundskeeping maintenance, clean bathrooms, clean out fire rings, and perform visitor compliance checks. We provide tools and equipment to do the job and reimburse for propane. We prefer longer stays of six months, depending on vacancies and time of year.

Ocean Pond Campground is a very popular campground along the shores of Ocean Pond Lake. The site receives more than 100,000 visitors each year. The campground has 67 campsites. Nineteen sites have electric and water hook-ups, 27 sites have water hook ups and 20 sites are primitive. All the water and electric sites are paved spurs with a 50-foot capacity. Each site has a lantern post, picnic table, fire ring and convenient access to bathrooms and hot showers. Ocean Pond Campground is conveniently located between Jacksonville and Lake City, Florida and is a popular destination for both local visitors and traveling snowbirds.

Prefer federal experience but will consider all. Share golf cart and landscape tools. Trainings as available.
