Please visit the new page to apply.
The Reedville Fishermen’s Museum is seeking volunteers who want to assist with interpretation of the replica of the John Smith discovery barge and/or serve as reinactors of the John Smith’s crew. The Spirit of 1608 was constructed by volunteers in 2007 and travels to various festivals and events in the region to provide an "hand on" educational exhibit for the public regarding the history of Captain John Smith’s exploration of the Chesapeake Bay. The discovery barge was built based on actual descriptions from John Smith diary and is one of three replicas in the Chesapeake Bay region. Authentic costumes are available for volunteers if they are interested.
