Mission Statement
The Museum’s mission is to acquire, document, interpret and display materials that are historically important to the lower Chesapeake Bay with special emphasis on activities relating to Reedville fisheries and the lives of the region’s watermen, and to establish educational programs to interpret this maritime heritage.
Description
The Greater Reedville Assocation(AKA Reedville Fishermen's Museum) plans various events and activities to promote its mission. There are volunteer opportunities in the following areas: boat building, event planning, educational programs associated with the replica of the John Smith Discover Barge, crew for the two vessels: the skipjack, Claud W. Somers and the Buy Boat Elva C, and in the office/library and in the museum.
