The role of the volunteer coordinator is essential in managing and coordinating volunteers for various back-to-school clinics. The volunteer coordinator has several responsibilities, which include:

  1. Tracking Volunteer Sign-ups: The volunteer coordinator is responsible for maintaining a record of individuals who express interest in volunteering. This involves collecting their contact information, availability, and specific areas of interest.

  2. Assigning Job Details: Once volunteers have signed up, the coordinator assigns them specific tasks or roles based on their skills, preferences, and availability. They ensure that the right volunteers are matched with suitable assignments.

  3. Background Check Volunteers: In some cases, especially when volunteers will be working with vulnerable populations or handling sensitive information, conducting background checks may be necessary. The volunteer coordinator facilitates the screening process to ensure the safety and security of the organization and the people it serves.

  4. Sending Out Reminders for Volunteer Assignments: The coordinator ensures that volunteers receive timely reminders about their assigned shifts, including the date, time, location, and any additional instructions. This helps to minimize no-shows and ensures smooth operations.

  5. Check-in Volunteers at Clinic Sites: On the day of the volunteer assignment, the coordinator oversees the check-in process at the clinic sites. They ensure that volunteers arrive on time, provide them with any necessary materials or equipment, and address any questions or concerns they may have.

  6. Sending Out Volunteer Appreciation Certificates: Recognizing and appreciating volunteers is crucial for maintaining their motivation and fostering a positive volunteer experience. The volunteer coordinator acknowledges volunteers' efforts by sending out certificates or other forms of appreciation to recognize their contributions.

Overall, the volunteer coordinator plays a vital role in managing the volunteer program effectively, ensuring that volunteers are well-informed, supported, and recognized for their valuable contributions to the organization.

About Project LINK

Location:

1315 W SPRUCE ST, TAMPA, FL 33607, US

Mission Statement

Project LINK mission is to provide equitable approaches to education, mental wellness, and healthy choices for children and their families.

Description

Project LINK is a community organization dedicated to the families in the Tampa Bay region. We assist our program participants by enhancing their academic experiences, providing healthcare access points for school required immunizations, school physicals, and shot records updates; providing access to behavioral health services for disadvantage families, and facilitating educational training/workshops to advance the quality of life for families. Our objective is to contribute to families becoming healthier, safe, informed, and active members in their process. We are not safe until we are ALL safe. We are not well until we are ALL well. Our initiative is to raise awareness levels of the pervasiveness of inequities in health, build empathy and support for addressing inequities, enhance the capacity of individuals to actively participate in intervention efforts and implement large scale efforts to reduce racial prejudice, ideologies, and stereotypes in the larger culture that undergird policy preferences that initiate and sustain inequities. We strive to strengthen and support families by "meeting them where they are", aiding in the re-discovering of talents. We utilize the gifts already present, and inject compassion, genuine interest, and direction for positive outcomes. "Our futures are not just determined by our prayers - our futures are also determined by our planting. That's why we are in the planting business- sowing and reaping" Tina Young, CEO
