Give comfort to those at the end of life by becoming a hospice volunteer. You can help make our patients' day by being a friendly face and a kind presence! Hospice care extends beyond medical needs to address the emotional, social, and spiritual well-being of our patients. Volunteers help our team to meet these needs by visiting patients to provide companionship.
We are looking for volunteers willing to visit homebound patients at their private residences.
At-home hospice visitors help extend social support to both our patients and their caregivers. Volunteers may provide respite for caregivers by sitting bedside with a patient for an hour or more so that caregivers can get out of the house. Or simply visit with home patients for any amount of time to help enrich their final days with friendly social interaction. There are many ways to bring comfort: share stories and pictures, read a book or magazine, play music, pray, work on crafts, play a game, or just sit together and hold a hand. Volunteers may also provide emotional support to caregivers by being a listening ear or helping with simple household tasks.
No prior experience is required to volunteer. Training is provided, we will make sure you are comfortable and confident in your service. We also welcome volunteers with a specific skill who are willing to provide care in patients' homes: pet therapists, massage therapists, cosmetologists, musicians, ministers, Reiki practitioners, artists, and more. However, anyone with a caring spirit can volunteer. You can make a difference with just your compassionate presence!

Volunteers are valued members of the Bella Care Hospice team. You can make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families while adding meaning to your own life. Help with administration in one of our 5 offices or visit patients in skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and patient homes across 25 counties in Ohio. Volunteers can do a variety of activities with patients such as reading, listening, hand holding, praying, painting their fingernails, doing crafts, singing, brushing their hair, pet therapy, massage therapy and more!
