FUN AND REWARDING GROUP OPPORTUNITY - Free t-shirts, Food & Refreshments, Community Service Hours

Join the National MS Society by volunteering at our amazing MS fundraiser on Saturday, March 25th & Sunday, March 26th, 2023, at our Annual Bike MS: Dat's How We Roll 2023 to fund important research and services for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, both locally and nationally.

The Bike MS: Dat’s How We Roll ride is a two-day fundraising cycling event that takes riders on a journey from Hammond, LA to McComb, MS and back again. Cyclists will experience routes with fully-stocked rest stops every 10-12 miles, a great lunch stop each day and support provided by volunteer nurses, HAM radio operators and law enforcement.

We are in need of 5-10 volunteers to support our Independence Leadership Academy Rest Stop. Volunteers will support our participants by serving drinks, snacks, and moral support as they ride up to 75 miles in one day! Volunteers can work the whole day, or we can split it into two shifts. We provide all the necessary instructions, supplies and equipment; we just need volunteer support!

Your volunteer support drives breakthroughs in MS research and ensures people with MS have what they need to live their best lives.

Mission Statement

To end the devastating effects of MS

Description

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society funds more MS research, offers more services to people with MS, provides more professional education programs and advances more MS advocacy efforts than any other MS organization in the world. Through its home office and fifty-state network of chapters, the National MS Society provides assistance to over a million people annually in its continuing mission to end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis.

Seeking out and engaging volunteers to the MS cause is at the very core of our business. Each year the Society organizes a series of community events that provide many opportunities for the enthusiastic volunteer. The Society offers key fundraising activities such as The MS150 Bike Ride, MS Walk and Stand Against MS. The Society also engages volunteers to help influence law-makers at the federal, state and municipal levels toward legislation important to people with MS. The Society is looking for passionate volunteers with expertise in areas such as: marketing communications, public relations, corporate and donor development, medical, legal, administrative and organizational expertise.
