We are seeking an enthusiastic professional or student who is passionate about the power of education. We are building a fresh volunteer team for the U.S. Chapter of Aiducation International and we aim to fill the leadership role first, effective March 1 st, 2022. Our organization has 100+ volunteers globally and we need to rebuild the U.S. presence. The U.S. Chapter Lead should be a skilled leader with a passion to drive impact for an important cause. The CEO of the U.S. Chapter will train and mentor the Chapter Lead based on our global volunteer standards and support the Chapter Lead to manage the volunteer team. Aiducation International is an efficiently run charity because we focus on education and leverage professionals as volunteer since our founding in Kenya, in 2007. Around the globe, we are run by an impressive network of professionals who volunteer their time. Applicants should have experience with leading teams and driving results. Preference for candidates with education and/or experience in sales, fundraising, education or entrepreneurial work.

Expectations for the Chapter Lead
The US Chapter Lead will be responsible for organizing a team of 3-5 volunteers for monthly meetings and planned events. We aim to fundraise five new scholarships for up to $18k in 2022 and gain new corporate partnerships. For example, our global existing corporate sponsors fund over 40 Mentorship Academies every year in Kenya, Ghana and the Philippines, If we can secure US based support, our Chapter can plan and travel to these countries to see the educational impact in person and mentor our scholars. This is an unpaid volunteer position. The estimated time commitment is 5 to 10 hours per month. The role is remote and preferably based in the U.S.

  • Learn about Aiducation and complete the provided 1:1 online training.
  • Plan and host online meetings for volunteers. Assist with volunteer recruitment and management.
  • Build enthusiasm and support for the cause. For example, lead the team to host an annual Impact Dinner where we could invite an Aiducation Scholarship Alumni to speak about the impact of education in their life.
  • Manage 3-5 volunteers to volunteer for various roles in the Chapter. Follow up on their work and results.
  • Drive results for the chapter through scholarships, newsletters, events and partnerships.
  • Report on progress to the CEO, U.S. Board, and International Leadership Team.

Education is the strongest lever for personal development, and capable, active citizen are the strongest lever for long-term, sustainable change. Together with our donors, we award merit based scholarships to bright and motivated, financially disadvantaged students in developing countries. These 4 year scholarships cover two main areas:

Building People: With each scholarship you provide a talented student who lacks the financial means to formal education.

Building Nations:Every scholar receives mentoring, training, and coaching and becomes part of our unique network of future decision makers that will drive their country forward in an economic, political and social way.

In 2020, we created 216 new scholarships driving us to a total of 2,123 scholarships across Kenya and the Philippines since our founding in 2007. Our online Global Youth Leadership Alliance has over 1k+ active members online as a modern way to connect and engage future leaders and their community impact. We hosted 16 mentorship academies in 2019, with 8 in 2020 that were transitioned into online academies due to Covid restrictions. Our Start-Up Fund with micro-loans for our alumni has funded 22 new businesses and our new online mentoring program is in high demand. We believe in the power of education and we drive this work through an impressive volunteer network.
