The South Carroll Lioness Lions Club’s (SCLLC) NexTrex Project
The SCLLC is collecting 500 pounds of clean plastic bags and other clean plastics (plastic film, grocery bags, bread bags, bubble wrap, dry cleaning bags, newspaper sleeves, ice bags, plastic shipping envelopes, Ziploc & other re-closable food storage bags, cereal bags, case overwrap, salt bags, pellet wrap and stretch film, wood pellet bags, and produce bags) for a Trex park bench. We have 6 months to collect the 500 pounds of plastic. Bring your clean plastics to the Eldersburg Library or to 1743 Deer Park Road, Finksburg. The plastics will be recycled and made into a Trex Bench for a local park. Questions? Contact PDG Susan Bonura at southcarrolllions@gmail.com or Lion Martin Bonura at join22wlions@gmail.com. Description
The South Carroll Lioness Lions Club was chartered as a Lions club on October 5, 2011. The club, formerly known as the Freedom District Lioness Club, was originally organized in 1985 as an extension of the Freedom District Lions Club. Since that time, more than $330,000 has been given back to our community through our various service programs. We assist individuals who cannot afford needed eye care or hearing aids and we collect and recycle used eye glasses and hearing aids. We support the American Cancer Society, the American Diabetes Association, Carroll Hospice, Carroll Hospital Center, ESCAPE Ministries, Just Say No Programs, Leader Dogs for the Blind, Lions Camp Merrick, Lions Clubs International Foundation, Lions Saving Kids Sight Foundation, Lions Vision Research Foundation, Lions Youth Foundation, local food pantries, the March of Dimes, the Medical Eye Bank of Maryland, New Life for Girls Ministries, Project Linus, Sykesville Freedom District Fire Department, The Shepherd’s Staff, Transitions Healthcare Oakland Manor Assisted Living, USO and the Wounded Warrior Project.
