RESPONSIBILITIES

The volunteer will (i) assist in planning and implementing the daily program under the direction of the head teacher, (ii) provide daily educational classes and coaching for any children currently attending our school, (iii) organize activities that you feel would benefit the children including setting up your own classroom of children requiring extra attention, (iv) help to strengthen the local teachers’ ability by working with them including preparing lectures for the teachers, (v) help with educational assessment of children in our educational program so that we can know their educational needs, and (vi) raise global awareness about - and support for of the work of PARC

ELIGIBILITY AND BASIC REQUIREMENTS

There is NO specific requirement for qualification. However, applicants are required to fulfill and meet the following;-

1. Be 16 years or older.

2. Speak and read basic English.

3. Secure funding for travels and accommodations. Volunteers are responsible for the following costs:-

+ Passport and Visa fees

+ All necessary vaccinations

+ Airfare to and from Uganda

+ Room and board at the local Guesthouse

+ Transportation while in Uganda (including the trip from Kampala to PARC-Uganda and back)

+ At least one night hotel stay in Kampala

Minimum time for placement and stay is 2 weeks.
