Recruiting Organization: Awareness, Courage & Love (ACL) Global Project
Awareness, Courage and Love (ACL) Global Project ( www.livewithacl.org) is a young, dynamic nonprofit organization that addresses the major public health issue of loneliness and social isolation by training chapter leaders worldwide in ACL principles so they can teach their community members how to meet life's challenges through deepening interpersonal connection and rising to live more true to themselves.
We are growing fast and seek new people to join our board of directors to: lend their expertise to staff and leadership, set high-level vision and strategy, approve the annual budget, provide long-range directives, check in on milestones, ensure that the organization is working toward its vision.
Board members are not responsible for day-to-day operations or staffing decisions, unless tasked to join a committee with those responsibilities. Our current board is a small, close-knit group who feel deeply connected to and supportive of one another. We want to cultivate that culture throughout the process of intentional board expansion. We are currently recruiting 3-4 new board members, including a Treasurer and a Vice-President.
Commitment & Terms
Board members are expected to join quarterly board meetings and to participate in at least one committee, for an estimated total of 4-8 hours per month. This is a volunteer position. The standard board term is 2 years, renewable.
We are currently seeking board candidates with the following expertise:
· International experience in building coalitions, networking and partnering
· Diversity--age, gender/sexual orientation, nationality, ethnicity, race, class, disability,
· Scale/growth expertise
· Board Treasurer and Vice President
· Governance/nonprofit experience
· Chapter leader--'voice’ of ACL
· Creative human resource experience
Our organization is dedicated to the personal and professional development and well-being of every team member. While working with us, you will be encouraged to have open-hearted, vulnerable conversations with fellow board members, staff, and volunteers as a means of modeling and experiencing the extraordinary interactions that can occur when someone chooses to live with awareness, courage and love.
