ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

The campground host is stationed at the Cimarron campground in Curecanti National Recreation Area between Montrose and Gunnison, Colorado. Hosts work 32 hours per week and are managed by the National Park Service. The hours may be divided between a couple. Uniform shirts are provided and required. Shorter length seasons will be considered. Hosts are front-line National Park Service ambassadors who provide a welcoming environment to visitors.


Cimarron Campground is located on US Highway 50, 20 miles east of Montrose, CO. Cimarron is home to a historic train exhibit, the Morrow Point Dam, and Crystal Reservoir. There are 21 campsites, a covered picnic shelter, and a restroom building. The campground is located at the base of the impressive Black Canyon with soaring cliffs. Montrose is the closest town for shopping, restaurants, and other amenities. Host site amenities include 30A electric, water, sewer, and a landline phone. Cell phone reception is limited.
