Set back from the shores of Diamond Lake in lodgepole pine forest, Broken Arrow Campground is a quiet, idyllic playground for golden mantle ground squirrels. This picturesque spot boasts views of both Mount Bailey and Mount Thielsen. Broken Arrow Campground offers easy access to fishing, walking and biking trails, yet sees lighter use from anglers and paddlers during the summer months. Broken Arrow Campground is comfortable spot for families and groups. This sizeable campground can comfortably accommodate large groups.

Broken Arrow Campground is located about 80 miles east of Roseburg, OR off Highway 138. The campground is just across the road from the south end of Diamond Lake. Limited cell service (Verizon works best) and emergency phone is available at nearby Diamond Lake Resort and the Gatehouse at Diamond Lake Campground. Amenities include flush toilets, running water, and a shower house. Nearby full-service towns are Bend, Roseburg, Klamath Falls, and Medford, OR. Limited supplies can be purchased at the Diamond Lake Resort.

Camp Host Duties include the following : welcome visitors, answering questions about the local area, reminding visitors of campground rules such as keeping campsites clean and leashing pets, performing compliance checks, updating reservation sheets, and communicating visitor conflicts to Forest Service (FS) staff. Other host duties involve helping with occasional campground needs such as picking up litter, cleaning picnic tables, grills and firepits, restocking toilet paper and fee envelopes, and communicating maintenance problems with FS staff. Restrooms are cleaned by a contractor. Volunteer must be able to bend, lift and walk comfortably. Ability to use tools such as rakes, brooms, pruners, and shovels is preferred but not required.

Hosts will be onsite and available for contact by the public at least 5 days a week, up to 8 hours per day. Actual shifts may vary and must coordinate with arrival of campers. Hosts will coordinate with FS staff regarding signing campsites for reservations and other day to day tasks, including when the hosts are taking days off for personal use.
