Smith Rapids Picnic Area is a popular place for forest visitors to get off the beaten path and enjoy the beauty of the South Fork of the Flambeau Rive and the Smith Rapids Covered Bridge. The Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest is looking for volunteers to help maintain this picnic area by performing general tasks such as picking up litter, painting signs and buildings, and if possible helping with mowing.
