The Volunteer Coordinator is a volunteer who assists in finding local organizations that can provide support to Soldiers’ Angels’ programs, through direct donations/sponsorships and/or volunteer
- Responsible for managing local Soldiers’ Angels volunteers’ (Angels) activities in support of local in person and virtual opportunities.
- Recruits volunteers for regularly scheduled and occasional events and activities and vacant key roles.
- Works in Volunteermatch to post positions, receives notifications of volunteers interested in serving, and follows up on volunteer inquiries.
- Works in Angel database to ensure assigned volunteers are logging hours, information is updated, etc.
- Assists in the planning of volunteer appreciation events.
- Ensures volunteers receive scheduled recognition.
- Regularly checks in with regular volunteers to gauge satisfaction with their assignments and ensures proper training and guidance is received to increase volunteer retention.
- Responsible to assist the local site coordinator or Area Manager in processing new volunteers. Includes training and mentoring.
- Responsible for making sure that all volunteers are aware of policies and procedures to ensure a consistent quality of service, and to set clear expectations of each volunteer.
- Assist site coordinator in collecting feedback from Angels after each event, to include sharing stories, pictures, and quotes.
