Volunteer child advocates are individuals who, through training, become independent voices for victims of child abuse and/or neglect in court. Prospective volunteer child advocates must be at least 21 years of age and must complete 30 hours of training as well as 6 hours of courtroom observation following an in-depth interview, reference checks, and criminal background checks. No special experience is required. Both male and female volunteers are encouraged to apply.

The mission of CASA of Cherokee Country is to be a voice for children who come into the court system as a result of abuse and/or neglect by providing trained volunteer advocates who speak independently for the best interests of the children.
