Do you like to talk, read books, listen to music, watch movies, make crafts, play cards?
By Volunteering, You can bring joy to the life of a Hospice Patient with things you enjoy doing.
Volunteers are essential members of the patient's hospice care team.
Volunteers are trained to listen, care and provide companionship for our
patients during this important time in their lives.
Interested in becoming part of our team and sharing your Joy with our patients? If so please

Volunteers may provide direct patient care services that include:
- Helping patients and families with household chores
- Shopping
- Walking patients dog
- Mowing patients lawn
- Listening to music or reading
Volunteers may assist in ancillary and office activities that support direct patient
care activities that include:
- Weekly tuck in calls to our patients
- Answering telephones
- Filing
- Data Entry
- Assist with patient and family mailing

Description
Amedisys Hospice is a community based hospice care agency licensed by the State of Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) and Medicare (CMS) and Accredited by Community Health Accreditation Program.
Our goals are is to foster genuine personal connections that offer emotional, psychological and spiritual support by taking an active role in the interests that bring joy to our patients. This strong support system also extends to the patients families, providing them resources and support throughout this journey. The families we work with rate our care highly. 85% if the families said they would recommend hospice services to others and 84% rated overall patient care as "excellent" or "good."
