ORGANIZATION: United Way of Martin County/AmeriCorps Seniors

Volunteer United/AmeriCorps Seniors recruits volunteers for non-profit agencies in Martin County, matching volunteer interests and skills to create a meaningful, rewarding volunteer experience.

The mission of the organization where this opportunity is located is to provide compassionate care and nurture the bond between people and pets.

Volunteers are needed at an organization in Palm City to assist with cleaning, feeding, socializing and walking animals. They are also needed to help with customer service and adoptions.

Requirements include a commitment of 2 hours per week, at the same time period, for a minimum of three months. Dog walkers must be able to handle 50+ pounds. Other animal care departments require volunteers who can lift over 20 pounds.

Volunteers may be under 16 with an adult present at all times.
