COVID-19 is surging dangerously. Our communities still need protection. Since March 2021 the Encore Intergenerational Vaccine Corps has placed hundred of volunteers on the frontlines of fighting the pandemic.

Encore.org is seeking volunteers of all ages to work alongside medical professionals and help us vaccinate people most at-risk. We’re working directly with several health centers in San Leandro, Hayward and Union City. Volunteers will help:

● Set up vaccination sites,
● Support patients with paperwork, forms and questions,
● Manage patient flow,
● Monitor patients post-vaccination,
● Translate for patients who speak languages other than English.

Click on "I Want to Help". IMPORTANT NOTE - you will receive a 2nd email from VolunteerMatch with an application link. You must fill out and submit this form to move to the next step & to join Vaccine Corps. We strongly encourage applications from people of color from the community, especially those who speak Spanish, Vietnamese or Chinese.

We also offer volunteers opportunities to get to know and learn from one another.
We need to bring the generations together to help build back our City!

Mission Statement

We’re mobilizing people over 50 to help young people who need champions.

Description

Generation to Generation (Gen2Gen) is a diverse, action-oriented community of people who believe that experience matters, and that the goal of later life isn’t trying to remain young: it’s to be there for those who actually are. Because every child deserves a web of support, and every older adult has something to give.

The campaign shines a light on the mutual benefits of intergenerational relationships already happening, and features countless opportunities for people to get involved.
