Catholic Charities Atlanta is seeking a Refugee Health Intern to assist refugee clients navigate various aspects of the healthcare system. This includes scheduling appointments, providing transportation to and from appointments, and being a companion and advocate for clients seeking healthcare.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of the American healthcare system
- Valid driver’s license
- Sensitivity to vulnerable populations
- Excellent spoken language skills
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Openness to feedback provided by peers and supervisor(s)
- Must be flexible
- Reliable transportation
- Willingness to work in a variety of in-person settings (CCA office, clients’ homes, doctors’ office, etc.)
- Willingness to follow public health guidelines
- Basic computer skills
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Bilingual (Pashto, Dari, Farsi, Arabic, Swahili, and/or Spanish preferred)
- Relevant lived experience
- Experience with and a passion for helping underserved communities
