Urban Surf 4 Kids is a local surf therapy nonprofit for foster and at-risk youth. We provide surf therapy camps, group mentorships, and life-skills programs.

We are looking for mentors who:

  1. Can serve as a positive role model for foster and at-risk youth
  2. Are passionate about uplifting youth who have suffered from abuse, neglect, and trauma
  3. Are willing to dedicate one recurring weekend day each month for 7 months
  4. Enjoy the outdoors and recreational activities

Volunteers must:

  1. Be at least 21 years of age
  2. Commit to all outings, taking place on a weekend day (last Saturday or Sunday of each month, depending on the group you are in) from March - September.
  3. Provide all required documentation upon or shortly after application, including DMV record and proof of car insurance
  4. Be willing to complete a background check
  5. Review our 1 hr Trauma & Safety Training prior to participating in the program
  6. Review our Water Safety Course (under 15 min)
  7. Complete an online, 2-hour training course to become a volunteer mandated reporter
