ORGANIZATION: Idealist.org

Recruiting Organization: PRISM FL, Inc

Like any other business, PRISM relies on its funding. Further, for bigger initiatives, we require a bigger influx of funding in order to carry out our mission. Grant Writers work with our Fundraising Management and Treasurer of the Board to write grants on behalf of PRISM. Grant Writers do not receive a paycheck, but they do receive the satisfaction that they are helping an organization for LGBT youth. There is potential for a paid position in the future.

Grant Writers have the following responsibilities:

  • Stay in communication with the Treasurer of the Board and Fundraising Task Force Management
  • Complete necessary paperwork for grant opportunities
  • Develop and plan fundraising initiatives (securing venues, coordinating outreach and promotion, organizing volunteers and tasks, etc)

While it is not required, it is greatly preferred that applicants have experience with one or more of the following: fundraising management, grant writing, event management, networking, LGBT issues, or youth services.
