Recruiting Organization: For Love of Children

For Love of Children (FLOC) offers virtual tutoring programs to under resourced students in the Washington, DC area. FLOC provides one-on-one tutoring in math and reading through our Neighborhood Tutoring Program, for students from 2 nd-12 th grade.

FLOC tutors are the nucleus of our program. Our volunteers serve as direct educational and emotional support to our students. Tutors are paired with students who have articulated a need for additional guidance in reading and or math above and beyond traditional approaches. Students are excited to engage weekly with dedicated support on concepts to enhance their mastery and understanding of tools and techniques that follow them through their primary and secondary matriculation. Our volunteers are instrumental in enhancing the self-esteem and confidence of our students while encouraging the independence and perseverance necessary to overcome any obstacle to succeed.

Once the application is submitted, you will be asked to attend an orientation/training and to submit a background check.
