The Idaho Falls Rescue Mission is in need of pantry help. Food donations from the community are placed in the pantry and then used for our evening community meals and food boxes. With volunteer cooks frequently entering the pantry area, it is important that we maintain a clean and organized pantry which is both safe and easy to navigate. Over the giving season, IFRM was blessed with many food donations. Being short staffed, we haven't been able to keep up with the demand of organizing and placing these items. We are seeking a team of 2-3 volunteers who can come in and help us tackle some of this. This will include:
- Sorting through boxes
- Discarding damaged cans (dented, leaking items etc.)
- Marking expiration dates on food packaging so they are easily visible
- Discarding items that have expired in 2020 and before
- Stooping
- Bending
- Standing for long periods of time
- Reaching
- Lifting up to 10-15lbs
- Walking up and down stairs

Description
The Idaho Falls Rescue Mission's focus is on the 'Three R's'- RESCUE, RECOVERY, and RESTORATION. The Idaho Falls Rescue Mission has two emergency shelters. The City of Refuge is our men's shelter. We strongly encourage our guests to be involved in our Works Program during their stay with us, as well as getting jobs, acquiring a vehicle if necessary and getting some savings established in order to go back out on their own. The Ruth House is our women's shelter, and this ministry exists to keep women off of the streets and helps them get back on their feet. Often times our guests come to us after a divorce or separation has left them without a place to stay, and our desire is to support them in a difficult season of their life.
