Schools That Can

Help support our In-Demand Career Fair!

We at Schools That Can are seeking corporate and professional volunteers to engage with high school students in our career readiness programs. Volunteers can come from industries including but not limited to healthcare, entertainment, construction, transportation logistics, and media. We hope to highlight in-demand jobs that require associate degrees, apprenticeships, training programs, or trade school, but we welcome people from diverse career paths to share their experiences with students.

If you are unable to participate in this event but would like to get in touch with our organization and support future opportunities, please fill out this form: https://forms.gle/gjoRhUjySoRs28EBA. You can learn more information by emailing Rachel Hopkins (rhopkins@schoolsthatcan.org).

This opportunity serves high school students of Pittsburgh, but you can support us from anywhere in the world!

Mission Statement

Schools That Can (STC) reimagines education through real-world learning that closes the opportunities and skills gap. Our vision is a revitalized education to employment pathway in which ALL students we serve are prepared to succeed in a rapidly changing future. We seek to close the opportunity and skills gap by preparing historically marginalized communities for 21st century life, learning, and work.

Schools That Can is a national not-for-profit network of K-12 schools in multiple cities, focused on providing culturally relevant career readiness programming that helps schools meet student needs. We do this through career-readiness programming, and collaborating directly with schools to make this programming accessible to every student. Our mission is for every student to graduate with career skills, relevant credentials, and confidence to pursue fulfilling post-secondary options. Learn more at: www. schoolsthatcan.org

At the heart of Schools That Can’s programming are our virtual volunteers, professionals across industries dedicated to volunteering in order to broaden student views of the world of work and their place within it. Whether it’s resume reviews and mock interviews or ongoing support, connecting students directly with a robust national network of volunteers is one of the most groundbreaking elements of STC’s programming. Want to get involved? STC is always looking for volunteers. It’s an engaging, exciting community, and thanks to this work being virtual, you can join us from anywhere in the world.
