** All volunteers must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Proof of vaccination is required. Mask policy fluctuates based on recommendation from our Chief Medical Officer.
Volunteers Needed to cover registration. Choose one of our open recurring shifts

  • Tuesdays 11a - 3p
  • Tuesdays 3 - 6
  • Wednesdays 3 - 6:30
  • Thursday (2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th of each month) 3p - 6:30p
  • Saturdays 7a - 11a

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome the donor to the Center.
  • Verify the donor schedule and identification, notify supervisor of deviations from norm. Schedule donors for their next donation appointment
  • Oversee the Canteen area when not registering donors. Try to ensure that donors are OK post donation and have a snack.
  • Thank Donors when they leave

Description

The Blood Center is a volunteer-based organization that involves volunteer blood donors, a voluntary board of trustees, and community volunteers. Volunteers provide a much needed and valued service to our donors, patients and staff. We serve over 115 hospitals in 4 states and utilize volunteers from many areas to assist in our operations. Headquarters for the organization, as well as component processing, is located in Davenport, Iowa.
