The Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program addresses concerns about the quality of long-term care services and paves the way for the resolution of problems arising between providers and consumers.

The Ombudsman Program works with consumers to ensure services are being provided appropriately and with respect for the consumer's rights.

Volunteers are the first contact most consumers and families have with the program. Your regular visits help residents in long-term care facilities.

Ombudsman Associates:

* Provide consumers with information about the Ombudsman Program and resident rights

* Assist with handling uncomplicated complaints

* Are a voice for those who are unable to make their voices heard

* Enhance the quality of life of nursing-home residents.

Pro Seniors helps older adults maintain their independence by empowering them, protecting their interests, and helping them access resources.

Description

Pro Seniors' provides legal advice to all Ohio residents age 60 or over who call our legal helpline, and free assistance to people in southwestern Ohio who need to choose and understand nursing homes and related long-term care. Pro Seniors also helps people resolve problems with long-term care providers, understand Medicare and other benefit programs, avoid Medicare fraud, and offers community education and regularly scheduled continuing education for professionals working with older adults.
