Volunteer in a Day Program for Special Needs Adults

Volunteers assist adults with intellectual disabilities in one of Chartiers' day programs. Volunteers are assigned to work with individuals and oversee their participation in the group activity. The individual may be learning a vocational skill that requires more practice or refining a skill related to daily living ex. kitchen skills. New volunteers are partnered with staff until they are familiar with the needs of the group.

Wouldn't you like to volunteer and share a little of yourself with our folks? This is a great opportunity for college students pursuing an education or special education degree. Gain great hands on experience!

The program location is in Dormont.

The opportunity is ongoing and date and time are determined by the volunteers availability. The day program is open from 9:00am to 3:00pm.

Chartiers requires volunteers to complete an application process including an interview, criminal clearance, TB test and signed confidentiality statement. Chartiers will pay for the clearance and reimburse the volunteer up to $45 for out of pocket expenses with the physical and TB test.
