Recruiting Organization: The Excellence Center in Palestine and Germany

Volunteer with Palestinian Children in the West Bank: This volunteer with children in Palestine program is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in working with children in a volunteer capacity, and/or internships with Palestinian children. In addition, those interested in childhood education will benefit from volunteering with children in Palestine.

The reason for this being because the Palestinian school system, in all academic fields, requires assistance because of scarce learning and academic resources in the West Bank. Program participants will also have the opportunity to volunteer with children in Palestinian refugee camps, for it is often these camps that lack the necessary educational resources. Subsequently, volunteers are welcomed to come to Palestine and teach children various subjects and skills. Whether it be in art, mathematics, the English language, song writing, health, or environmental science, the sky is the limit!

Volunteers upon arriving in Palestine will have the opportunity to design and create their own workshops geared toward children. These workshops will make up the majority of volunteers’ workload here in Palestine

Previous workshops have included:

  • Drama for Palestinian refugees
  • Fun days for Palestinian kids in the refugee camps
  • Conversational English language for Palestinian kids
  • Arts and music for disable Palestinian children
  • Media training for Palestinian school students
  • Environmental camps for young school students
  • Mathematics lessons
  • Journalism workshops for high school students
  • Medicine (First aid Courses)
  • As well as others.

The Palestinian Excellence Center will assist all volunteers with acquiring the necessary resources to conduct their intended workshops successfully, as well as connect them with the proper, local experts here in Hebron, Palestine. Depending on their chosen workshop subject, the Palestinian Excellence Center can connect volunteers to local resources, organizations, and experts here in Hebron. Some of these resources include local NGOs, community centers, refugee organizations, local schools, charities, law firms and universities, as well as local children’s schools and day care programs. All these resources made possible by the Center’s deep ties to the local community here in Hebron!

Further, coming to volunteer with children in Palestine will be a fully immersive experience for those involved. Volunteers will not only have the opportunity to work with Palestinian children on a variety of subjects, but also live and breathe Palestinian culture, the Arabic language, and the rich history of the Levant! This will occur in a number of ways, first, volunteers will have the opportunity to reside with a Palestinian host family or in an all-male dorm located at the Center of Hebron. Either way, both opportunities ensure that volunteers will be completely immersed in Palestinian daily life, language, and culture.
