Our camp is unique in that we invite children who have battled cancer and their siblings for a full week of fun!
After training and a background check, you will be assigned a specific camper. You will help children have fun, encourage them to participate in activities, and focus on building their self-esteem! You also have the opportunity to be in contact with the child's family before camp to learn what their needs are. Volunteers are required have the covid vaccine and provide documentation.

About Camp Quality Louisiana

Location:

Mission Statement

Camp Quality serves children with cancer and their families by providing year-round programs, experiences, and companionship, at no cost. Camp Quality promotes hope and inspiration while helping children foster life skills and develop their full potential. Our goal is to allow kids with cancer to be in a non-judgement environment and be like normal kids as much as possible.

Description

Camp Quality Louisiana serves children with cancer, either active or in remission. Because their siblings have a tough time, we also allow siblings to attend camp. We operate under a national organization to give us guidance and support. Out camp has an independent operational committee that meets year-round to plan activities, recruit and train volunteers, recruit campers and help fundraise. We are a community supported organization using grants and generous individuals to allow us to put on the camp at no cost to the campers and their families. We have several volunteers that are nurses, cooks, activity coordinators and of course, one on one companions to our campers. We even have a child life specialist to help the kids deal with problems. The kids get to swim, canoe, do archery, arts and crafts, ropes courses, team sports, horseback riding and so much more. We are going into our 33rd year of serving kids with cancer.
